About the dome
Opened in 2025, the Darwen dome is only the second facility of its kind in England after Bradford. It gives the community a fully enclosed environment designed to host cricket all year round, with three full-length lanes that can be cleared for match play, coaching and community events.
Widening access for state school pupils sits at the heart of the project: Darwen Cricket Club and the Lancashire Cricket Foundation deliver programmes with more than 13 local schools, in school, in the dome and out on the ground.
What you can book it for
- Individual and pair net sessions on full-length lanes
- Club training nights and pre-season preparation
- School and community group sessions with Lancashire Cricket Foundation programmes
- Junior coaching, one-to-one sessions and small-sided match play
- Flexible open-floor use for events when the lanes are retracted
